Yves Smith: Banks are still getting away with a lot

2007 marked the beginning of a very difficult period in the global financial system. In the aftermath of Lehman’s demise, our largest financial institutions were bailed out — not just in the US, but globally. But many question the methods used to prop up these institutions.Feature guest Yves Smith — author of the finance book “Econned” and founder of the financial blog Naked Capitalism — is still on the case — probing into the machinations of governments’ dealings with too big to fail institutions. She spoke at length to Boom Bust to explain her insights.Wrapping up today’s show was a new Friday segment called “In The Margins”, where Erin and Edward answer viewer questions about the past week’s interviews and topics.
