said Thursday it's recalling about 1.4 million of its Gibson Leather
Task Chairs after receiving 25 reports of contusions, abrasions and
other injures from users who had fallen. The company said the
mounting-plate weld can break and separate the seat from the base of the
chair, causing users to fall off. The company has had as many as 153
reports of the plate weld cracking or breaking, including the reports of
injuries, which involved the head, neck, back and hip and needed
medical attention. Consumers can call Office Depot toll-free at (866)
403-3763 or go online.
