Banker Even Tried To Have Neighbor Committed To A Mental Institution
A banker and his wife waged a vicious
and devious five-year campaign against a neighbor in a bid to increase
the value of their home.
Peter and Kim Bayliss even tried to get
Sarah Saxton declared insane by spreading lies about her all because
they wanted 12 inches of her backyard garden.
The battle began in 2009 when the
Baylisses attempted to take Sarah Saxton to court to seize 12 inches of
her garden. Saxton was able to block the seizure which incensed the
Baylisses. In that case, the court heard how Mrs Saxton a caregiver for
the disabled, suffered a whiplash injury after she was “violently
grabbed and shaken by Mr. Bayliss’s mother” when she attempted to use
her right of way to the garden in July 2009.
After their defeat, the couple believed
that if Saxton were “out of the way” they could increase the size of
their garden. Mr. Bayliss and his artist wife then concocted a plan to
have Mrs Saxton committed to a mental institution and removed from her
home.
The crazed banker and his wife also
repeatedly tried to have Sarah Saxton arrested with false allegations.
They even contacted social services in an attempt to have her fired as a
care giver.
After nearly five years of putting up
with the Baylisses, a Central London County Court the judge ordered the
Baylisses to pay Mrs Saxton £36,750 in damages for harassment and
nuisance. Mr Bayliss must also pay Mrs Saxton £2,000 for assaulting her
and the couple were ordered to pay legal costs estimated at more than
£300,000.
Judge Nigel Gerald who heard the case called the Baylisses, “Dishonest and devious”
