U.S. stock-index futures traded slightly lower Tuesday, with investors
weighing whether the market has the momentum to extend a long-running
rally or has fallen prey to an irrational buying frenzy.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average recently fell 30 points to
14365, and S&P 500 Index futures lost 1.7 points to 1548.80. Nasdaq
100 futures declined 3.5 points to 2802.
"Confidence or complacency is the key question, but with every
downturn being filled with a new wave of money, the momentum is
currently all one way," said Rebecca O'Keeffe, head of investment at
Interactive Investor in London.
