DAYTON — Gas prices jump more than 30 cents on Thursday. According to
Gasbuddy.com, gas prices are averaging $3.352 in the Dayton area.On
Wednesday, the average price for regular gasoline was $3.20.We were
there today at the Speedway on Burkhart and Woodman as prices went from
$3.18 to $3.45 in a matter of seconds. Others in the area quickly
followed suit. There’s very little explanation on why were seeing the
cost go up, but AAA thinks it’s because prices were low last month and
because more crude is being exported so it’s being sold for a higher
price on the global market..This is the first dramatic jump we’ve seen
so far this year. The good news, experts predicting that we shouldn’t
come close to last year’s record high at the pumps. However, currently
we are only 15 cents away from that high.
