Deputy Sheriff Accused Of Sex Crimes

DETROIT -- A Wayne County deputy sheriff has been charged in connection with the sexual assault of a 24-year-old female relative.Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced the charges against 42-year-old Roderick Vincent Calhoun on Friday.He's charged with four counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, one count of assault with intent to do great bodily harm, felonious assault and felony firearm.Worthy said the charges stem from an incident that happened Tuesday morning. She said Calhoun is accused forcing the victim at gunpoint to perform multiple sex acts. She said he's also accused of beating the woman with a belt and choking her.Worthy did not specify the exact relationship between Calhoun and the victim, but said the two are related and live in the same home.Calhoun has been suspended from the sheriff's office.He was arraigned on the charges Friday afternoon in 16th District Court in Livonia.
