Union: Winslow to layoff 12 police officers, 11 others

Winslow Township has plans to layoff a dozen police officers and 11 civilian employees, according to police union officials.

The layoff information, posted on the Winslow Township Police Association website, states the layoffs are scheduled to occur on June 14.

The town's layoff plan was approved by the state's Civil Service Commission on Monday, according to commission spokeswoman Mary Anne Jemison.

Township administrator Joseph Gallagher could not immediately be reached for comment this morning.
