HONG KONG (MarketWatch) - As U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner visits Beijing, partly to assure the Chinese government that U.S. debt is still safe, China has few options but to add to its massive stockpile of U.S. Treasury holdings as it adheres to a de-facto dollar standard, a top Asia analyst said Monday.
